DERBI Foundation was established in 2015 with a vision to enable and empower the entrepreneurs through pre-incubation, incubation, and acceleration support for healthcare ventures. DERBI Foundation strived to fuel the startups dreams by providing state-of-art technology support and invaluable business wisdom to the entrepreneurs and has supported more than 100 entrepreneurs.
DERBI Foundation wants to recognise creative solutions that are contributing to making primary healthcare delivery more inclusive and affordable for India. It believes your innovative solution has the power to transform the health system at large. In 2021, DERBI formally joined the SIHI network as a SIHI country hub in India.
OUR ACTIVITIES
24-Hour Ideathon, 20-21 December
– Themes: Circular Economy and Water Conservation
– Invited students from across India to generate ideas on circular economy and water conservation
– A total of 147 applicants, of which 70 were selected

Global Bio-India Roadshow 2024
Organised a roadshow for Global Bio-India 2024 in Bangalore.

The panel discussion covered various aspects of healthcare innovation, such as (1) challenges faced by founders from the prototyping to MVP stage, (2) policy initiatives supporting the journey from prototyping to marketing, (3) challenges in healthcare innovation from a medical professional’s perspective, and (4) real-world experiences of founders in navigating from proof-of-concept to market access.

Mr. Sathyanarayana B V – CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Read Biography
Mr. Sathyanarayana B V has been instrumental in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Karnataka through various leadership roles in the public and private sectors. As Deputy Head of Startup Karnataka, KITS, Department of Electronics, IT & BT, Government of Karnataka, he played a key role in implementing the Karnataka Startup Policy 2015-2020, creating a supportive environment for startups through policy facilitation and investment promotion. His efforts included briefing international delegations on the state’s startup ecosystem and its benefits. As the CEO of AIC-Great Lakes Balachandran Incubator (AGBI), he leads initiatives to foster disruptive innovations across multiple sectors. Through these roles, Mr. Sathyanarayana B V has significantly contributed to nurturing the startup ecosystem in Karnataka, supporting entrepreneurs, and promoting technological advancements.
Dr. Adithya Hande – Clinical Project Lead

Dr. Adithya Hande is an expert in naturopathy, yoga, and integrative medicine, based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He holds a Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences (BNYS) degree from SDM College of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences, Ujire, and an MSc in Psychology from Jain University, Bangalore. Currently, as the Head of Clinical Projects at DERBI Foundation, a BIRAC BioNEST at DERBI Foundation a digital health incubator, he spearheads initiatives to integrate traditional health practices with modern clinical research. Dr. Hande’s clinical skills include acupuncture, hydrotherapy, nutrition, and manipulative therapy, allowing him to address both acute and chronic pain disorders effectively. Additionally, he contributes as a writer and thought leader, sharing insights on the future of ageing in Indian society and the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
