Research Training and Skills Development
Between October and December 2025, WYN Academy delivered advanced research training activities in Kuwait in collaboration with the Kuwait Pharmaceutical Association. This included the Critical Appraisal for Pharmacists course in October 2025 and the launch of Professional Skills I (Presentation Skills & Scientific Communication) in December 2025. The activities aimed to strengthen pharmacists’ research literacy, scientific communication, and evidence-informed decision-making. Pharmacists and healthcare professionals participated from diverse practice settings. These initiatives contributed to SIHI hub goals by strengthening local research capacity and supporting the identification and development of context-relevant health innovations.
Medication Safety Capacity Building
On November 26, 2025, WYN Academy conducted a focused capacity-building workshop on the safe crushing and splitting of medications for patients with swallowing difficulties and those on nasogastric tubes. The activity engaged pharmacists and healthcare professionals in evidence-based discussions, practical scenarios, and clinical decision-making related to patient safety. Key challenges and system gaps were identified through participant interaction. This activity contributes to SIHI objectives by generating practice-based learning and supporting the development of future case studies on medication safety innovations.
Early Exposure to Healthcare and Social Innovation
In Q4 2025, WYN Academy initiated planning for a Winter Internship Program for High School Students (Winter 2025/2026), building on the success of the Summer Internship Program delivered earlier in 2025. The planned initiative aims to partner with schools to provide structured exposure to healthcare careers while integrating social innovation in health concepts. The program will combine hands-on learning experiences with SIHI-aligned activities, enabling students to identify community health challenges, co-design feasible solutions, and present innovation-focused project outcomes. This activity supports SIHI hub goals by strengthening early innovation awareness and future health workforce pathways.
Our Events
Youth Medical Forum 2024
The Youth Medical Forum took place in April 2024, with the aim of empowering high school students in Kuwait to make an informed decision when choosing a healthcare profession as a degree once in college. This event was designed to be “from youth, to youth”, with university students volunteering their time to train younger students on real-life healthcare scenarios. It was a beautiful community service that brought together both the public and private healthcare sectors in Kuwait. This social initiative was designed as an attempt to increase awareness amongst youth on what it entails to go into the medical/ dental/ pharmacy/ allied health faculties, with the main aim of decreasing student withdrawals from healthcare colleges at a later stage.

Summer Camp 2024 - Social Innovation in Health
The Summer Camp’s mission ran to empower and prepare early-career healthcare professionals and healthcare university students to become future leaders in the healthcare field. The programme focuses on developing leadership skills, fostering innovation, and equipping participants with the knowledge and experience needed to take on leadership roles and make a significant impact in the evolving healthcare world. This programme is designed specifically for Healthcare University students and Early Career Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in the Middle East and North Africa Region, to empower and nurture the next generation of HCPs in this region, with a focus on incorporating interdisciplinary learning into the program’s curriculum, such as engineering and business, to promote a holistic approach to problem-solving and innovation.
